Exhaust on my 5.0L

I have been looking at exhaust kits for my 96 silv. 1500. I have the 305 5.0L. I've noticed a lot of companies such as magnaflow (which is the main one i'm going for) have exhaust for the 5.7 L but not the 5.0L. I was wondering if the kits for 5.7 L's would fit my application. Any other suggestions would also be helpfull!! Thanks!

Good Question, I'll give it a bump to get it back to the top since I would like to know as well. I think it would work, Since I Think I have used headers off a 350 on a 305 in an old 83' firebird before. But lets wait and see If anyone with more experience knows.

I cant remember.. does the 305 have dual cats? I know the 350 does. The manifolds are interchangable.

IM thinking if the headers fit, so will the Cat Backs.

No, the 305 is a single cat setup. I know a couple of guys who "say" they fit the dual cat set from the 350 5.7 onm the 305, but i don't know how right they are. Any suggestions?

well i havea 97 chevypick up single caband have plenty of bolt ons .Well i have Bassani headers on my305 and yes they will fit a 350. Their aint no difference on the 305 to the 350 is just the block that is bigger but every that a 350 has can go to the 305. But i Would recomend u to go with Bassani exhaust i mean the full exhaust is worth the money and it has a cleand eep sound not to loud and not to quite. Well if ur intreasted go to www.ckresto.com and u will find the full exhaust of bassani. By the way i have in my truck the full exhaust headers ypipe and the mufflers. It ran me about 1,000 dollars but it will help u with the power.
