2006 Duramax Recall

Has anybody else received the recall notice concerning the Glow Plug Control Module? I just received my letter a few days ago and was wondering if anyone else knew about this problem. I apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered. Here's the reason behind the recall: "Your 2006 model year GMC Sierra vehicle, equipped with a 6.6L Duramax Diesel V8 engine, may have a condition in which the engine glow plugs are overstressed electronically, causing glow plug failure and engine damage in some cases."

Does this only apply to the LBZ motors, I wonder?

Yeah, all LBZs from the start of the 2006 model year (August?) to something like January build. They've already sent out all of the recall letters to the affected VIN numbered trucks.

 

I was the first LBZ at my dealer, with the info I got on DieselPlace. The reprogramming took about 30 minutes. No big deal.
