Twisted driveshaft

Recommended Posts

I have a 6" lifted 03 3500. I started off from complete start a little hotter than usual, went through the normal start-off shudder then BAM! Stopped and driveshaft was hanging, twisted behind the front u-joints. I am going to order one from Denny's driveshafts but was wondering if anyone has the measurements? Is it the angle that is too great due to the lift? Do all lifted trucks have this initial shudder than smooth out? :seeya:

I'd recomend a square driveshaft made out of square tubing. Slide on end in the other and that way is allows for better flex and it's stronger.

Did you make that yourself?

I didn't make that one, but I have made them before. It's pretty cool. You don't weld the two tubes together, they float inside each other for extra flex. Pretty cool eh?

Chris,

I think Dennys has a page you can copy on there web site that shows you how they want you to measure for a shaft.Or just call them. 716-875-6640
