How do I know if my '02 Silvy is clear coated?

I was under the impression that they all had a factory clear coat?

Pretty much ANY vehicle built after around 1987 to 1990 is gonna be painted with a basecoat/clearcoat paint. They pretty much phased out enamel paints over the years, although some paint shops do still sell them. I dont know of any car manufacturer that still uses enamel paints.

Isn't there a 1 Stage and a 2 stage process though?

 

The one stage being a mixture of paint and clear coat?

1st stage is the basecoat, or the color. The second coat is the clear which is what makes it shine. The 1st basecoat will be very dull, flat no shine at all.
