I recently installed some gauges to my 99' Suburban 6.5TD and one of them was a trans temp gauge. There are 2 lines on the passanger side of the transmission, 4L80e. One is closer to the bell housing and one is near the tail of the tranny. I was told the line near the rear is the line that goes from the tranny to the cooler. This is the line I installed my temp probe to read from. More recently I was told this is the return line from the cooler.

What line do I have the temp probe installed? :bs:

Thanks

If memory serves, the "Front" line (meaning towards the front of the vehicle) is the "Return from Cooler" line... so for a trans temp, you would hook the gauge up to the Rear line (Trans to cooler).

Now, dont hold me to this, but I also have Logic backing this up.. cool fluid front to back flow.. Makes complete sense to me, but hey... Doesnt mean some braniac engineer defeated the gravity thing, ya kno? :flag:
