Slow04Cobra Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Looking at a leveling kit for my 01 z71. I talked to the people and they claimed with the 2 inch leveling kit I can fit 33's on 16x8 wheels without modifications. I haven't the slightest clue but isn't a 305/70/16 the same as a 33? If this is incorrect please correct me. Would this actually be possible? If not what would have to give in order to make it possible. Thanks in advance. Slow
silveradoHO Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 A 305/70/16 tire is 32.8 inches. With a 2 inch leveling kit, you should be fine with the height, but you may have problems with the backspacing. You need to check this with either the manufacturer of the leveling kit or the shop that puts on your tires. 285/75/16 is also 33 inches, and may work if the other's won't.

So, the 305 is the same height as the 285 but just wider. Is there any way other than a full on lift to make the 305/70/16 fit?
silveradoHO Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 The 305 should fit, the only potential problem is the inside of the tire could rub. If this happens, you will need new rims with more back spacing.
