Aftermarket Leather Seat Covers

Has anyone upgraded their factory cloth bench seats to leather? Either by purchasing aftermarket covers, or as a GM accessory? I am interested in something OEM or better quality.

Well, you'll be a lot happier if you go to an uphostery shop and get the seats done in leather. You'd pay a lot of money for leather seat covers, and they aren't going to fit/look right and you'll be an unhappy camper. Spend a few more bucks and do it right.

Converting to leather isn't that bad check out Katzkins their leather is much better than the factory leather and its more reasonably priced.

Another option is to buy a take off set of leathers off of ebay.

Classic soft trim is who we use here at the dealership,Excellent work and craftsmanship in their job

 

I actually think their leather is better than the leather GM uses in these trucks from the factory,It dosen't seem to get "funny looking" or tend to have that "cracking" that the factory leather gets.

I'm sorry but I just don't think the leather GM puts in these trucks is all that good of a quality unless you get an Escalade or a Denali,The leather they use use in those models seems to be a better grade of leather.

I happen to be one of those people who does not like leather seats. I have them in my Mazda and do not care for them. They are slippery and sticky in hot Florida weather. Moreve, they crack and deteriorate in hot climates. I simply use sheepskin covers on the front seats. Leather seats in the back are so slippery that any light object I place on them flies off even upon moderate breaking.

 

So, in my case, I would use sheepskins or seat ocvers on leather seats anyway, so it makes no sense to get them. My neighbor had an '04 Silverado with factory leather seats. They looked horrible just after one year - all cracked and scuffed around the endges. Not very high quality, I might add.

I feel the same way Pete.

You hit the nail right on the head,The leather gets cracked and scuffed on the edges and looks like cheap vinyl,Not something I want in a $35-40,000 truck!

My buddy had his new Tundra done by a shop in Pittsburgh Pa and pd $1200 but it was worked into his deal from the dealer. They couldn't get him what he wanted with leather.
