Have a few questions.

With all the incentives going on my dealer offered me a great deal on an 06 Sierra. Almost 9k off the sticker. a 4x4 extended cab with the special edition package.

my question is how is the wind in the cab with the windows down? the reason i ask is because in my S10 now if i dont have the rear window open there is bad buffeting (dont know if thats the word) in the cab without the rear window open. Its unbearable. this truck doesnt have a sliding rear window so i dont know it it will be a problem.

is there anything else i should know? it has the aluminum 5.3. is this motor better then the iron block? i know it has more HP.

That's a pretty good deal on a new pickup, but keep in mind there are ALOT of good deals out there on new stuff right now.

The wind noise in the cab is acceptable, in my opinion. With the windows up, it's nice and quiet. With the windows down, and your crusing at 70 MPH, it's pretty loud, as would be expected on any vehical.

I'm sure the Al 5.3 is a good motor, I have one with the iron block. A few posts I've seen on this forum say there is no noticable difference in power between the two, and some guys post that they love the Al 5.3. Bottom line is, if you can't get E85 in your area, it really doesn't matter.

My pickup has 3.42s, and will break the rear wheels loose on concrete with E85 in the tank. That's enough power for me, bro :driving:

Just my opinion but Special Edition doesn't really mean anything. Toyota and Honda like to place "special edition" labels on their vehicles from time to time, but in the end, does it really matter?

I've got the aluminun 5.3 and I love it. Not sure how it compares to the iron block though, as I have never driven one. The Al 5.3 should be lighter in weight in addition to having more power.

Yeah the motor part is mainly weight difference imo, less weight will = more power and better economy while minor what the hell why not.And really i dont see much of any benifets using e85, not much cheaper and not as good as regular fuel and not as availible either.E85 is nothing but a fad that will pass by pretty soon, that is not going to be the answer to are growing fossil fuel problems.
