pastor scott.com Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Hey guys, I have a question. On my 04 burb the frt Driver side bump stop spilt open and was causing my truck to lean. Was going to have dealer do it (under warrenty but was not worth the hassel (( very easy to change my self ). Cost $25.00 . Now when I ordered it they asked Z71 or not. Mine is not. Now if the Z71 is taller, could we change or upgrade to the bigger one and gain a half an inch ( as the truck dose rest on these. Scott
Breezy Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Personally I don't think they should be touching. Mine had 1/4 inch before hitting. If there resting on it I would turn the T-bar up just a little to get them off of it about a 1/4 inch. If your resting on them it probably rides pretty stiff. Hope this helps good luck.
Ape0r Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Never seen one that wasn't resting on the bump stops, I know mine does. Putting larger bump stops on it would have to be accompanied by a torsion bar raising anyway, because without adding tension to the t-bars, you would be basically using the bump stops as your only springs.
