front wheel hub assembly

2001 2500hd cc 4wd 6.0l abs light was on 2 weeks ago but has gone off since. i took it in to the dealer but my warranty expired 2 months ago. he is telling me the front left hub assembly is going out. $506 for parts and labor. is this something i can change out myself? any tips, tricks, hints? anyone got a part number for this?

Never replaced the front hub, but napaonline.com shows the part number as BRGBR930416 and the part is listed for $319.00 . Not much help, but something.

Very easy swap, I did it a few months ago. Check out gmpartsdirect.com, they can save you a hundred or so on the part.

 

I don't have the part #, and our stupid internet hitlers here at work are blocking the gm parts site.

Easy swap, but you will need impact tools most likely. Like above, my hub was $324. $200 to install is bullcrap. If you can change disc brake pads, you can do this.
