Ok, so I'm ready to mod

I have a 2004 ECSB 5.3....3.42..

The stance has bothered me for a good while now (grandpa) and I've had some time to think about things...

I've decided to lift the truck slightly, level it, and put some SS 20's (If I can find a solid aftermarket replica in black and 22", I'll go for that instead)...and I was thinking about wrapping those in Goodyear Eagle F1's. What I want is for the truck to have a meaner stance and for the wheels to protude slightly past the wheel wells width-wise...both for greater center of balance and for the look. I want the big tire/big rim look to make things look meaner.

My question .. (I have no experience with lifting/dropping)...what could I do to achieve this look? If I put on 20's, or even 22's, will that raise the truck up enough to achieve the 2-3" or so lift I'd like? And from therewould I have to lift the truck with spacers to make things look right (enough space between wheel well and tire? At that point, would it be necessary to level things out?

Like I said, I'm totally new to suspension and have no clue about how different wheels alter the truck's appearance. I'd probably want 20x10 or 22x10 wheels, depending upon whether or not I can find black replicas of the SS wheel.

What would you advise?

If I went with either the 20's or 22's, what exact tire would you suggest?

you have a 2 or 4wd truck? if you have 4x4 i would simply adjust the torsion bars until you are satisified with the stance they are usually good for about 2 inches. if you are a 2wd model honestly it would probably look better if you lowered the rear 2 inches you will still have plenty of clearance. and as for the offset for your wheels/tires i would just mention it when ordering your wheels what you are looking for as far as the look and they can do all the math for you.

The problem with raising the Tbars 2 inches on a 4x4 is that it puts the front CV's at higher angle and tother with bigger tires it can shorten there life.

I have a 2WD ECSB.

Thank you both for the info....snoman, I just want a little bit higher stance with the rims and tires, should coil spacers on the front do the trick in leveling things out?

2" Daystar coil spacers will level it out almost perfect. I've got them on my 2wd ECSB and they are great. No problems at all with the install and Firestone had no problem aligning it. For $90 plus an alignment, I'd say that's the way to go.
