nonstop Posted June 11, 2002 Posted June 11, 2002 Any one nowhere, I can get a factory style CD player, cheaply? 2000 LS xtrcab 4x4
Markeaux Posted June 11, 2002 Posted June 11, 2002 I got a 12 disc changer with a very long cable (and Y cable to let me keep the stock cassette) from www.radiosandmore.com - it plugged right into the back of the stock am/fm head. They might not be cheap but if you don't go with them then at least you might be able to get a part number+more info from their site to help find one elsewhere. The changer I got was labeled Pioneer (sorry I can't get a p/n off it right now) but looks and works exactly like the GM stock 12 disc changer that came in my 98 Z28. I have heard there is an Alpine unit that also works with the stock head. You also have to check to make sure the head unit you have really will work with an external changer - I have heard that some models won't (I think one criteria was that it have Theft-Loc printed on the face).
nonstop Posted June 11, 2002 Author Posted June 11, 2002 I know it has a AUX button, so I thought it might be for a external CD.
