Puddle Light Mod

I Have a 2006 Silverado and would like to mod my Puddle Lights to come on the same time the dome lights come on and off. I know the puddle lights are controled by the BCM but, I would like to bypass this. The digram below shows that the lamps are triggered by the exterior coutesy ground. I would like to know how to or if its possible to make this work with mabey a relay.

It should be controled through the DIC.

 

Perimeter Lighting

Continue with the following steps in order to program the perimeter lighting feature:

 

The DIC displays PERIMETER LIGHTS: ON or OFF.

Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.

Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Thanks for the reply however, I would like to control my puddle lights so that they come on and off with my dome lights thus being controled when I disarm my alarm. Also, can I program my perimeter lighting without steering wheels controls? If this is possible, please advise.
