torsion bar help (again)

Hi All,

 

I know that torsion bars have been discussed here in length but I haven't been able to find the answer to this question.

 

How do I reset my torsion bar pre-load to factory specs after cranking them up?

 

I know, I should have counted the number of turns when I was adjusting them but didn't.

 

Does the factory set them to a specific height measured off a point on the frame or are they torqued to a certain ft/lb?

There is a "Z-height" spec.  It is 110 - 122 mm (4.4 - 4.8 inch).  It's a measurement of the distance of length between the very bottom of the spindle and the center of where the lower control arm pivots.

 

The easier way would just be to eyeball it and make sure both sides are even.  Or you could just crank them down to match mine... from bottom edge of the wheel rim (NOT the tire) to the edge of the wheel well opening was 31.25".
