GM Molded Hood Protector

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali black on sandstone. The truck is currently in transit and should arrive early next week at the dealership. I am currently debating, if I should buy the GM molded hood protector for it. I have several questions in regards to it:

1.) Does the hood protector cause any problems while opening/closing the hood?

2.) Does it wear the paint on the hood or the chrome grill?

3.) Does it cause any other problems or does it  just work as described at GM Accessories?

4.) Do you think it looks good on the truck?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Sounds like you bought a nice truck :)

That is the one I had on my Sierra. I believe it is the same as the LUND brand.

No problems with paint or chrome on grille. It requires no drilling, it uses holes already in our hoods. Does not touch the paint under speed.  I liked it when I still had the chrome grille, but after I painted it, I removed it.

Thanks for your prompt response. I am glad to hear that the hood protector does not cause any paint problems. I am still not sure if I like the look, but on the other hand I am trying to keep this truck nice and I do want to avoid chips etc.

I guess I will sleep another night on it and hopefully come to a decission. Again, thanks for your reply.
