Thanks Vernon for the recomendation on the Magnaflow. I bought the same Magnaflow you have from Tybrine Motorsports and like it a lot. I produces the sound I want (now it sounds like a big block) without excessive cab noise, perfect. The only in cab drone I get is cruising in town between 1600 and 1800 rpm. On the freeway I can still listen to the radio and hold a conversation at normal tone. Upon hard acceleration the K and N is actually more of what I hear in the cab.

The guy at the muffler shop said it would be really loud and I should go with Dynomax (which is probably a good product) but I am quite pleased with my Magnaflow.

Thanks again Vernon, you knew exactly the sound I wanted.

Wow, it's nice to be thanked like this. You're welcome and glad my advice was good to you. Just so you know you're about to get asked how much it cost and what's the part number so you might as well post it .

Hey Vernon, got any pictures or drawings of your "home-made ram air" for the Volant intake? I've got a Volant on my 8.1. Wondering if it helps MPG any? Or power?

I'll try Daubs but it's raining a lot right now. I don't know about MPG but my MPG has steadily gone up over what it was when I bought it. As far as making a difference in power it definately does. I had a tube connection come loose on a towing trip to New Orleans. I didn't notice the change in power until I was coming back empty and it was really freaking me out. I thought something had gone wrong and hurt the engine. When I found the tube loose and reconnected it the power came back.

Part number is #12469 dual in/dual out muffler. I had the shop tie into the factory tailpipe to keep it in the stock location and stock look.

Muffler $79.99 + shipping = $99.99

Install $65.00

I was quite pleased the muffler shop welded the tubes 100% around. I looked at a friends exhaust an it was muffler clamped with spot welds.
