spindles to lift 2wd

I have seen that a few manufacturers are selling 3" lift spindles for my 2wd 2500HD. I'm throwing around the idea of getting a set of these and cranking the torsion bars 1"-2" to make room for 315/75-16's. Since I don't have to worry about cv joints like the 4wd guys are there any other potential problems with my logic?

Some of the lift spindles will move the front wheels outside of the body, some don't mind it, but I think it looks pretty stupid.

I wouldn't mind it as long as the rears were offset properly to stick out the same amount. If they do stick out much up front though I would imagine it would cause clearance problems with larger tires though.

How would a new spindle move the tires outward, or I guess why would they do it? I would think it would just move the spindle lower, in relation to the body... Other than that it probably would be a fairly simple thing to do without any major issues.
