dmax egr block of

I also posted this question in another area. but I hope I can get some responses from you HD guys. I have a friend that gave me a plate to block off the egr passage on my dmax. He told me that it would increase performance and mileage. Has anyone else heard of this mod? Is it safe? Does it work? I have an 05 CCSB.

It wont increase your performance or mileage. what it will do is keep you oil and intake cleaner by not recirculating exhaust gas back into your engine. You can accomplish the same thing by just unplugging the EGR also. A lot of info can be found at Diesel Place
