Header Install

I"m considering putting on a set of Summit shorty headers in my Z. I was wondering if any of ya'll have swapped the headers out on your trucks and replaced them with the Summit headers. Also, how much of a pain in the rear is installing a set of headers in these trucks? Is there a bunch of crap in the way, can the Summit shorties bolt up to the stock exhaust or am I going to have to do some engineering?

Thanks.

They will bolt right up BUT, be aware that som headers including Edelbrock move the location of the O2 sensor and will make it run like crap.

If you go with shorties then, leave the sensor in the original posistion...been there and done it

shorty's are not really worth the performance. Get a set of long tubes. Pacesetter makes a inexpensive set and get the y pipe they sell as well.

I agree, go with the long tubes, you'll make a little better low end torque.

Thanks fo rthe advice. I'm guessing an aftermarket y-pipe would be a good investment which should then bolt up to the cats which should then hook back into the exhaust. Is this pretty much accurate or am I missing something?
