Timing Chain TSB

My dealer found the problem I have been having for a while with my 2003 Silverado involving a rattling noise coming from the engine or exhaust. It was the timing chain tensioner. They have to preform a TSB to fix it and it would cost $900. I am not sure if I want it done or not. It is really annoying and can be heard at any time the engine is between 1500-2000 RPMs which means you can hear it while drivign down the highway. Another guy had his truck in with the same problem on the same day. He has owned a 2003, a 2005, and a 2006 and they all did it. I don't know why GM hasn't put the new parts on the factory engines. i called GM customer assistance to see about cost assistance or something and they are going to call me back. The dealer was going to have to call GM to see if the other guys truck was covered or not. The service guy said he was not sure if GM would pay for it under warranty. I think that guy was not very happy about the situation. I wouldn't be either if I had a brand new truck and it did it.

You are talking about the one for the 4.3 engines correct? As I'm not aware of one for other engine lines.
