new tires/sizing

OK i've got a '90 1500 stepside. when i got it it had two alright tires on the front and two wal-mart cheapies on the back. Anyways i got a good set off my dad's cutlass when he decided to got new rubber. they are about 10 years old but are Eagle ST's nice tire and looks nice but after about a month riding on them the right rear belt decided to snap today. Thank god i only had to ride about 2 miles on it. anyways i've got an almost bald set of michelin 30x9.50's i'm sticking on the back for now.

 

I am going to get a new set because i'm tired of dealing with crap tires. I need to know what sizes i can go up to on a stock set up and what you all reccomend. if i got big tires i'll go with 31's. Although after having the eagles i'm thinking of a sport stance tire. what would be the widest size to go with for a sport stance. I work at wal-mart TLE and have heard nothing but good about the Liberator at's and the BFG land terrain's. both seem to be good for all use. I'm doing mostly on road/highway driving, but ocasionally get off the beaten path and would like something with a beefy look. ohh yeah did i mention i work at wal-mart and am paying for UTI so i can't afford a real expensive tire. any suggestions or information would be appreciated.
