Water Separator

I have used diesel equipped equipment on the Ranch for 60yr's and all have had a water separator to drain daily. Yet on my 2004 GMC Duramax 2500HD I can not locate the water separator. Usually it is associated with the fuel filter. Water separators are a must on diesel engines and if not drained frequently the diesel fuel metering piston will freeze up and have to be replaced. Can anyone tell me where the water separator drain is located? Not the water drain located on the Gas Tank.

There is a plastic valve at the bottom of the filter.
