Newbie in Michigan

Greetings,

 

 

Newbie to the forums and Chevrolet. I started $ wheeling with a spanking-new Jeep Cherokee in 1978. After I rebuilt EVERYTHING at least once, I then drove a few fords, and dodges. With all the URBAN sprawl here in SE Michigan, there is few if any where to go off road. Anyways, since 1982 I haven't done a lot with trucks other than a pint-size dakota used for flea-marketing with my wife.

 

Now that I have a 4 X 4 I again find myself looking at what can be done to "improve" the overall performance/effect of its 4 wheel capabilities.

Its nice to see a fellow Michigander.

 

As far as off road goes... We have a few places that are worthwhile.

 

I am sure you are already aware of Silver Lake State park outside of Mears, MI on the West side of the state. On the east side you may be a bit closer to the Mounds off road vehicle area in Genesee County. You can get more info about the mounds HERE.

Just a '95 1500...dark blue with a fiberglass top...

 

If it is clean, I will get pix asap...

 

it has 136,000 miles and has a hard time running after a cold start and hesitates when i accelerate...

 

thinking it might be on-board computer, but I read in the ask tech that there may be something with the TBS and water in a charcoal cannister??
