GMC Yukon Instrument Cluster

Ok, the other day the instrument cluster on my 2001 GMC Yukon started givin me trouble. The odometer, grar selector, message center, and a few other indicator lights (high-beams, etc.) are completley out. The turn signal lights work and the check engine light works. What would cause this, it all happened at once. Also, within the past few months I have been having problems with the blinker/multifunction switch in the steering collum...and will be replacing that. Could the multifunction switch cause any of the instrument cluster problems? What else could it be?

I know there is a fuse for that. Do you have an aftermarket cd player installed? I forgot to cap the dimmer wire and it burned the dash fuse out and gave me the exact problems that you are describing.

Any ideas on where that fuse would be? I know there is a fuse panel on the driver side dash and under the hood....is there any more panels?
