rough riding 86

Hey everybody- new member here.

 

I have an 86 gmc4x4shortbox, all bone stock (58000miles!) and it rides really rough. I guess thats the nature of the beast with what I got, but the streets where I live are super banged up and pothole laden, nd just no fun to drive on.

 

Any expert advice on replacement shocks/suspension goodies that will suck up the bumps and potholes, so I can flow thru the nastiness, like cars do?

AFAIK, those were the years of REAL trucks as far as suspension goes. I don't know of anything you can do to 'soften' the ride, but then, I've never looked into it as my opinion on the matter is that newer trucks ride too soft.
