I know you guys will crucify my, but i could push away the price...

I like to have an old truck to tinker around with on my farm. I had to have my old blue W/T towed off because the engine seized, and my F250 because it cost too much to repair.

This one seemed just right.

1984 Ford F-150

4.9L V6 "Big 300" Engine

4-Speed Manual (on the floor-ford offered column and floor that year)--3 Speed w/ OD

2-Wheel Drive

Long Bed

The bed is shot...body wise...however! There is NO hole rust on the cab, fenders, or hood. Its pure surface rust. It really doesnt look bad at all, seriously!

He could easily get $300 for this truck... ...he's selling it to me for $50.00

He's owned it its whole life, and wants to see it go to a good home, with a little bit for gas money.

I think it is pretty much assumed here that since it's a Ford, it's going to be a project truck.

Sorry couldn't resist.

But good luck to ya. It's nice to have an old beater truck around sometimes. I am not at all familiar with the 4.9 motor. Have any numbers on it?

From what i remember, it used to have almost the same torque as the 302...thats why people loved it (Its a Straight 6)...not to mention they last forever.

That I6 is a decent motor. We have one in our 85 F150 with 175,000 very overloaded hard miles on it, in our plumbing shop. It won't die and the owner refuses to get rid of it until then, those motors are very easy to work on and run pretty smooth.

One question...for years ive wondered this.  What the hell is this cross-hairs aim and shoot thing in the middle of the cluster?

I had that exact same truck, except an '82 model with the column shift three speed. I bought it new and put 175,000 on it then I gave it to my brother and he put another 100,000 on it. The only thing we replaced was the clutch. Ford doesn't make trucks like that anymore. By the way, is that the genuine simulated wood grain trim I see?

Dana does have a point, if you look at the speedo, if the needle and numbers weren't there it'd be the same thing.

Ford just opted out of the ol' Tach, that's all.

That's gotta be the ugliest gauge cluster I've ever seen.

This is a little worse, but it's a close one.
