Corsa Exhaust Question....

Guys,

Here is a sound clip link to a 5.3L Silverado V-8 with the Corsa exhaust. I don't know what model/configuration they did the sound clips with, but it certainly doesn't sound stock to me? I probably have one of the fastest Silverado configurations with my 5.3L, Regular Cab, Short Bed, 3.73 Gears, Locking differential. What do you guys think? Is their truck modded to get that sound/acceleration sound? It sounds too quck to be stock IMO. If that vehicle in the clips does accelerate that fast, it seems as though itwould beat my GTO that I just traded in judging by the acceleration sound......lol. My truck shifts out of 1st into 2nd around 45~50mph.....and the one in the clips gets there VERY QUICKLY. Surely it doesn't have the 3.23 gears I would assume. I would appreciate any input. Thx guys!!

Maybe the truck in the sound clip has 4.10 gears, that would make it shift sooner.

I've installed a Corsa Sport system on my truck and haven't looked back. When I do tow up grades it does make its presence known. It's not loud or annoying, it just lets you know its there. I don't tow that often, but if I towed more I'd go with the Touring system.

Dang......U can get 4.10 gears in my configuration as an option? Didn't see anything about that.

That was an option when I bought my '99 ECSB and it was an option when I bought my '04 CCSB. You just gotta do a little research and always order. That way you get what you want and you won't get blindsided by such "Today only" deals. Plus if when your truck arrives and another dealer advertises a truck like yours for a better price, 9 times out of 10, you'll still get the better deal.

the launch if you count is around 4 seconds to get out of first. my goat only took about 3 seconds to get out of first.

I hear ya....Your Goat was an auto? Mine was a 6-speed manual. Very nice cars....resale value was plummeting, and didn't want to get stuck being upside-down in a vehicle. But the main reason for trading is that I really needed a truck again. I will miss it, but I missed my 2000 Silverado the day I traded it in. Bought it brand new in August of 1999, and kept it for 6 years. Never had a problem with it. The 5.3L is an awesome motor, as is all the LSx derived motors from GM. Still, that truck in the Corsa clips sounds d**n quick to me to be stock.....dunno. Gotta get some miles on mine before I start getting on it...lol. I'm right around 300 miles now. It's funny, when I listen to the Corsa clips it sounds very similar to the Corsa Sport I had on my GTO. Here is a link to a video I made of my GTO with the Corsa on it a couple months ago. It's a big download, but worth it IMO....lol. So you traded in your Goat also?

Yea....had an accident in mine also. My own fault though....backing out of a buddy's driveway I turned too sharp and the front bumper caught a railroad crosstie that he has lining his driveway. Messed it up pretty bad. Had it repaired, but the paint kept chipping, flaking, cracking. I was gonna have to sink about $1,200 into it to try and get it fixed right. I don't think it would have ever been the same as new again, plus like I said...I needed a truck. Im waiting on the 2009 model year to see what happens with the Camaro and such. Should be interesting at the least.

Ok...Thx.  What kind of Flowmaster setup do you have?

Cat back 40 series Single in Dual out with 3.5" stainless tips. Sounds great, but I probobly shoulda straight piped it and spent the 90 or so dollars the muffler costed for a wait4me pcm..

Ok...cool..Thx Your setup is probably what I am going to go with. I had Flowmasters on my 2000 model. Had the muffler shop cut both pipes before the Y junction and true dual it all the way back with two Original 40's turned on their side. It sounded d**n good!!

Did you have a muffler shop fab up the piping for you with the muffler, or was this a complete Flowmaster setup?

Along the same lines....Flowmaster has a 50 Series catback for my truck. Part #17360. Single inlet/single outlet side exit exhaust. Have you ever heard this? What do you think?

Got another question...

Where can I find the plastic side bed rail covers like you have on yours? I had them on my 2000 model, but my truck didn't come with them. Do they even make them? I would rather have them put on versus having my spray-in bedliner come over the sides. Thx.
