ok guys finaly got the bottle hooked up on the truck, wow.....defently an improvement, faster exelleration and more noticeable horsepower. Its only a zex wet feed and only running a 75 shot, trying to keep an evry day ride i ran a test run numerous times so i probley need to refill the bottle. Agin i dont know much about nitrous but had to tell you all.

ive put 2 codes in the truck now kinda funny there all o2 sensor codes, i work at the dealer thank god so checked them out and the first code is the p0420 wich is low efficency code for the 2nd position o2 sensor the other p0430 is more less the same but its telling me that the o2 sensor was reading too much nitrogen in the gas.....lol "ya think"

ok the question is what o2 could i use to stop sending codes, someone said something about the bosh ones but cant remember.

I believe the engine would tolerate modest nitrous but the trans will be turned into metal puree'. the 4l60 is at the edge of its ability for a 5.3.

nahhh. i dont think so ive been driving with the programmer inwich everyone thought would blow the rear out or destroy the trany as well and its still fine.

i think nitrous is just miss understood most ppl seem to freak out and say "your going to blow your truck up"..in wich i have herd numerous times but i think if used and installled correctly can burn fuel more efficiantly or how ever you spell that...lol

Honestly its was kinda funny i work in the parts dept. here at a chevy dealer in maryland, wich is located in the sticks and i tell you what i have never seen so many techs, involved in one job before in my hole life...the whole shop was over my hood making sure everything worked right..... wow now how great would that be if you had that kind of dedication to every job at a dealer and had gear heads like that working at them...lol

While nitrous can be helpful, don't underestimate it. Its more than capable of taking of your heads, never mind chewing through that trans. Do you have a s**t kit?

Back to the O2 sensors...

The nitrous oxide provides extra oxygen to the combustion chamber causing the fuel to burn hotter and faster. If not very carefully regulated, you can quickly detonate your engine to death--holes burned in pistons and burned valves.

Chemically the nitrous works because the oxygen atoms will easily separate from the nitrogen in the hot combustion environment, providing more available oxygen to ignite the fuel in the cylinder. The O2 sensors are working correctly--they are reading an exhaust gas for which they are not designed. The ECU is attempting to interpret results that are accurate but the ECU is assuming that the sensor must be broken if it is reading as much oxygen remaining in the exhaust as the sensor is indicating. I have no idea if someone makes a sensor that would work for what you are doing, you might check with the nitrous system manufacturer to see what they suggest.

Sounds like fun!

Well there are UEGO o2 sensors (Universal Exhaust Gas Oxygen), and Bosch makes one. It's a wide band o2 sensor that is more accurate and has a wider range than an OEM sensor.

BUT, I think u would still throw codes, to the PCM. The PCM knows what is suppose to come from the o2 sensors. So I think you need a custom tune that can take advantage of the more O2 your putting in your motor.

And by no means what so ever am I at an expert at this. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

aww you guys are awsome thanks for the advise i do have to thank mark in tulsa for not being an expert at explosives in trucks but that was a plus that you stayed at the holiday in the other night....lol

anyway yeah i threw 2 more codes p0420, p0430 wich both are o2 sensor codes or low effincency converters...lol the p0430...says the cause is too much nitrogen left in exaust wich is funny cuz i just added a whole lot of it...lmao but now my bottle is empty. cant imagin why but wanted to tell you guys that theres a dodge dakoda r/t that once i perged out the cowl hood he took an imediate right turn to home i assume. Wow alot of fun guys but not like fast and the furious or anything so i got a little bit of spending to do, want to get some new spark plugs from zex just to make shure i have no pre-detonation ill post a pic of the perge when i get some time

sorry just realized that i already said something about those codes before...lol trying to do 2 things at once
