Will a factory Impala radio fit in my Silverado?

Will the radio from a 2006 Impala or HHR fit in my 2006 Silverado?

 

If it does fit, will getting it to work just require a trip to the dealer to have the VIN programmed for it, like a radio from another Silverado would? Are the wiring harnesses the same?

 

This is the radio I'm looking at, to replace my stock AM/FM radio that came in my work truck.

No,It won't work,Its a totally different radio.

I think the wiring harnesses would be the same, but it looks like that Impala radio has a curved surface, where the Silverados are flat.

 

If it does fit, all you should have to do is get it reprogrammed by the dealer.

 

A bit of advice: unless you absolutely want to keep the clean "factory" look, it may be better just to get an aftermarket head unit.

I'm searching for a similar answer - I have an 08 Silverado work truck and would like to swap out the AM/FM stereo with a CD/MP3/Aux model. After some review of rear panel pictures, the Impala connections are in a different position than the same year Silverado. Also, the aftermarket connectors are different models as found on www.installer.com. BUT, the connector for the Silverado IS the same as the SRX, H2, Equinox, Enclave, Vue, Torrent, Sky, etc. So, the next question would be - do stereos from THESE models fit the truck line (the H2 would certainly since it is a 'burban, but the others seem possible). My reasoning is the TRUCK AM/FM/Cd on ebay sell for $150+ whereas these other models seem to pop-up for as little as $30.

Well I took a stereo out of a 2000 cavilier and loaded it strait into my truck and it turned right on... I know for a facat your wiring harness is the same just the curved surface is all you realy have to worry about. It may just plug right in and work... But then again it may not. ALSO you can google the security codes for the radio's so you dont have to get your dealer to do it.
