6.2L found in Denali and Escalade

Hello,

I just purchased a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali. Actually I pick it up later today. My question is, why is there a difference (on paper) in power betwen the 6.2L engine in the Escalade vs the Denali ? 380hp/415 ftilbs vs 403hp/417ftilbs. No one at the dealership can give me an answer and I have looked everywhere online for comparisons to no avail. I am beginning to believe that they are both the same engines but GM decided to adjust specs to show some favoritism with the higher dollar Escalade.... Anybody know ?

Probably just a slight difference due to their PCM's being set a little different. No differences internally, just a computer parameter difference. Nothing a custom tune won't be able to fix. Chris

Yeah, nothing a tune won't fix plus they were looking to be able to publish 400 plus hp for the Caddy. According to Car and Drivers test results, your Denali will be quicker because it weighs a little less.

BTW good choice on the Denali. I am trying to convince my father to buy one, when he is ready to get rid of his Suburban.

I was told it was the cam and tuning, the 07' Escalade runs great, intake, long tube headers and dyno tune should really wake it up.
