didn't like it based on pics, but saw it in person last weekend, and it looks tough!

I had to pick not sure as I'm still undecided, but I guess it's growing on me some.  They do look better in person, though.

 

Assuming I eventually get a new one, my attitude will likely be, "I wish they'd kept the design more in line w/ the rest of the vehicle, but I can live with it", or something like that. ???

Saw my first '03 in person Sunday.  Dealer had two 1500 4x4 swb reg cabs mixed in the same line as about 6 '02 models.   Front end - ugh !!  Back end - I like !!  Beefier tailgate cap and the lights actually look pretty cool.  If they had followed the rounded, softer back end (and don't we all like back ends that are rounder and softer :0 ) with a more conservative evolution on the front end, I would like it all.  Alas...

I like it.  I've also read that they have moved the cruise contol to the steering wheel, and off the "dumb stalk".  I hope they've really done that.  I don't like that messy stalk right now.  You get used to it, but cruise and stereo controls on the steering wheel are much better.

I like the Sierra better.  But I would buy a '03 if I was in the market.

 

I do think the whole truck should reflect the same design elements.  On the GMC, the only difference (outside) I could find was Grille and front bumper.  Same EVERYTHING ELSE !

 

I think the Silverado tail lights help to tie in the design change.

I'm another one who hated it when I first saw pics but after seeing in person I like it. Told my dealer to call me when the first black or new blue one arrive, seen a blue one on a carrier and it's a nice color.

I voted for Hate it.  It might just take time.  

I like the seirra(from the pics at least), but I have seen the silverado in person and it was the just ugly.  Maybe it was just the one I seen.

 

So looks like seirra and silverado fenders are not going to be interchangable anymore.  Thats what supprises me.

Silverado and Sierra fenders & hood were not interchangeable starting with the 99 redesign.

The first one I saw was a base truck, which is what my '02 is, and I didnt care much for it! But I saw a Z71 LS the other day it it looked pretty good! I voted not sure, I wouldnt mind having an '02 and an '03 in the garage!!!!! ;)  ;)  ;)

The Chevys havent grown on me yet...I still prefer the looks and styling of the GMC.

I seen the new blue color in person today and LOVE IT.  I seen it on a 2500HD ext cab 4x4.  Didnt see the front (have on other trucks) but i really did like it.  The new blue looks richer and i cant think of the word over the old blue (indigo).  I wonder how it holds up to scratches?
