Ebay Chips

So I've been seeing these different (yet all the same) ways to quickly add horsepower to your engine. The cheapest way that I've found is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20HP-PERFOR...029069915QQrdZ1 . But I've also found these, which seem to be the same thing, except their inside of a box: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy-Avala...028580385QQrdZ1 . And I'm not really sure what this is, but it appears to do the same thing that the others do: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20HP-O2-SEN...035469890QQrdZ1 . So I know I shouldn't get things like this off of ebay, but I don't really have any source of income and this is all that I can afford. What is everybody's opinions on these things?

Please for the love of God dont buy these...this tricks your engine into thinking the air coming in is cold...it may work a little bit, but it also gums up your plugs.

I fell for this when i was 16...thought i was getting an actual "chip" to solder into my PCM. What i got was a 5¢ resistor from Radio Shack and a homemade pamphlet on how to "jury rig" your MAF into thinking it had cold air coming in.

Had it in for 2 weeks. Gummed up my plugs so bad that i needed to replace them. Pulled it out the day my head gasket blew.
