GMT-900 H2 Hummer

So GM is totally overhauling there fleet to the 900 platform except the H2 which with the demise of the H1, is the hummer flagship :smash:? Its seems like that will cost them money in the long run by having to keep an extra platform in production just for the H2

Does GM have plans to update the H2 to the new 900 platform or atleast upgrade to the 6-speed auto and 380hp motor?

Those plans to update the H2 were delayed a little in order to speed up production of the GMT-900 SUV's and trucks. Just a little shift in priorities from what I understand.

It's probably a good overall move for GM. It's trucks are more important and the H2 has been struggling in terms of sales with gas being so high.

A new H2 is still planned.

I think a total redesign of a more efficient H2 will definitely be needed.

I have read that there is no demise to the H1. It will no longer be available in civilian form and therefore also not available to the public. However, the H2 and H3 shall carry on.

The H2 is only 4 years old. the tooling is paid for and there is not enough sales (less than 25K sold per year currently) to justify a new design. The initial volumes were aroung 50-60K per year and gas prices dropped sales in half.

Word at GM claims a new model in 2010. It was delayed from 2008.
