I can't wait I pick up my new 2006 crew in the morning. First stop, the tire shop (the wife will never know) off with the 265/75 17 Bridgestone Duellers. On with the 285/75 17 BFG or toyos, I'm leaning tword the BFG a bit more money but I don't know if I can say I bought toyos. Now for the to fast part. I want to get a K&N air filter and a magnflow muffler. Can I should I? Is it to soon?

Thanks for the help

wrong forum, BUT i will answer anyway. Go with a 285-70/17 because the 75 is to high of a profile and the truck comes with 265-70/17 but i would honestly wait a few days, OR go with a 265-70/17 AT because then you keep stock sizes and the dealer can play the "No warranty because of tires" and they will. and the 285 will require some trimming. I would say wait until the motor is broken in to do any mods. get a few hundred miles, 1000 perferably, make sure that motor is broken in and if there are any problems than the dealer cant cop out under the mod umbrella. But it is your truck and your descision and these are just my opinions.

Good Luck and let me be the first to congratulate you on the new truck.

P.S. (Go with the Dueler AT Revo, i have them and love them, and they wont hurt your gas mileage as bad as a BFG would.)

Skip the K&N Filter, that's just more dirt in your new engine... and if you over-oil the filter, it will just foul out your MAF sensor.

Joel, I will second what Kyle said. There are other options for a filter but I would wait until the truck is well broken in. You will pick up little to no HP or MPG with a drop in K&N.

If you decide at a later time to add a Cold Air Intake, look long and hard at your options. IMO, the TrueFlow unit is the best solution because it is a true CAI and retains the factory air box but replace the restrictive OE tube. They use an oiled foam filter instead of cotton/gauze and their oil contains a tactifier agent that will not allow the oil to come off the filter and get into the MAF. I have had mine for almost a year and when I checked behind the filter a month ago, absolutely no oil or dirt of any kind.

I cannot comment on the muffler other than saying that there are many opinions on this and many say that the OE muffler may be a little more restrictive than a Magnaflow, but not by much. If this is true, the real reason for adding a aftermarket muffler is to hear that "Sweet V8 Music" coming from those pipes.

Congratulations on your new truck.
