20 inch wheels

I'm contemplating putting on a set of 20 inch wheels (GM # CK799) along with 275/55R20 Goodyear Eagle LS tires as required by GM for this wheel. This is going on a 2002 Tahoe 4x4. Will the dealer be able to flash the pcm so that shift points and speedo will read correct for this wheel size? Also will the brake system require upgrading and would the ride quaility be detrimentally affected? Any input from someone knowledgeable on the subject would really be appreciated. thanks.

The computer can be reprogrammed for the correct tire size. Not sure if the dealer can do this. You can buy a reprogrammer or have someone reprogram your current computer to do this. I would think that the brakes would be okay, the ride might be a little stiffer, although not bad. I had a 2003 Silverado SS with those tires. It does take more power to turn them though. You can gain enough with a reprogrammed computer to more than make up for this. I would go on ebay to buy the tire/wheel package. There should be plenty of the SS wheels on there. Good luck.

I don't think you need to reprogram anything since the diameter of the OE wheel/tire set is the same as all of the other wheel/tire combos that are offered.
