flickering battery light

My battery light filckered on me a couple times this evening driving home. It only flickers for a second then goes out, I think it did it a couple times. I was on the highway, at highway speed, in the pouring down rain (if that matters.) My volt gauge is still reading just above 14 volts, and I checked it at the alternator with a voltmeter and it's reading 14.56 volts which is completley normal. Aside from this filcker in the light, it works perfectly. Any ideas? Would the weather make a difference, maybe a loose connection or somthing that the blowing wind and rain caused to flicker for just a moment? Once I got off the highway It hasn't done it again.

Check your battery connections.

I agree.

There is a known issue with OEM batterys rotting out at the positive terminal causing failure.
