The denali comes with the 4L80E tranny found usually in the 2500 series trucks. This is the standard tranny on the denali. I believe the 02's may have been the first model year with this stradard tranny. Prior to tha the 2001's used 4L60-E HD which GM descirbed as a "beefed-up" version of the 4L60-E
