brakes on 2500s..

i've been looking at some early 90s 2500s, getting ready to buy. my question is. on the 6 lug version are the brakes any bigger (rotors, drums, etc)  then a 1/2 ton? or do you only get the bigger brake on the ones with 8 lugs.. seems all the stuff in my price range has 6 lugs and i always figured it was the same as my 1/2 ton so i dont know if i even want to go look at some if the brakes will be the same (since thats one of the reasons i dont want to tow with a 1/2 ton anymore)

On the 2500 hd they have larger diameter rotors and the pads are 35% thicker...................on the earlier models I dont know...........

If I had to guess I would say the 6 lug rotors and discs would all be the same...  It's just a guess...
