Problem with Traction Control

2004 1500 Suburban with Stabiltrak. Intermittent problem on dry roads; when I leave a stoplight or at other times at low speed, fuel is cut to the engine and the DIC reads "Traction Active". There is never any wheelspin. Started two or three months ago, has happened 3 or 4 times. Truck has 54,000 miles. It lasts for just a second, then clears up.

Any ideas, or has anyone had similar symptoms?

I am having same problems with my 2006 Yukon XL. Seems like afew other are having the "Traction Active" problem with GMC's http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0f4913

This happened after 40k miles (of course, warranty expired) and almost caused 3 accidents on business road trip I just came back from. While pulling out through a busy intersection, the Yukon "Traction Active" light came on and vehicle died for about 3-5 seconds, enough time for a few on coming cars to have to swirve away from me. This happened twice, third time was making left turn across traffic, same results. Took back to dealer when I got back and explained about the other people online with same complaint and a service bullitin from 2004 on older models. They didn't want to hear about it. I even told them what the problem was (speed sensor) but they did the $90 diagnostics and told me it was the wheel speed sensor. Duh! Only they told me they had to replace the entire hub assembly because the sensor does not come as a part. $377 for hub and $600+ total for everything....

Of course, it may be just this dealership. because I had slightly larger tires put on for winter driving, I paid for the to calibrate my speedometer to new tire just before a road trip. I ended up with a speeding ticket because they set my speedometer almost 10MPH slower then I was going. They wrote a letter stating they messed up, but sending letter in didn't help, had to be in person, gas cost would have been more then fine.... Anyway, they recalibrated my speedometer. This time it was very close, and with normal tires, it was right on. On above problem, they tried to make me get my speedometer re-calibrated because they noticed I put the regular tires back on.... I had to argue with them not to because I verified my speed with GPS and was dead on....

I guess its time to find a new dealer to get service at....
