failed emission test

I failed the emission test. The first try they suggested to change the gas cap, tried that and the service engine light was off for about 15 mins. Once I change the gas cap I took it the same day for a second try and it failed. The diagnostic report issued codes P0440 (EVAP control system) and P0449 (EVAP control system vent valve/solenoid circuit).

I'm wondering were these parts are located, and are they fairly easy to correct myself?

It's probably the evap vent valve. This is mounted on the front of the gas tank, probably directly on the charcoal canister. It's the only electrical solenoid in the vicinity so you can't miss it.
