2007 Sierra Classic... Radio Theftlock?

Is there a way to disable the theftlock function on my 2007 sierra classic? The reason I ask is, I have installed an aftermarket powered subwoofer. It can install with RCA jacks or by being tied into the speakers to get a high level signal. I elected to just tie into my rear speakers and use the high input level. The sub is supposed to automatically turn on when it senses an audio signal. However, it stays on constantly. I am guessing the theft deterent blinking in the radio is sending enough signal for the sub to detect and keep it powered up. So, if there is any easy way to disable it or turn it off, I would like to try it. I may have to end up using a remote hookup and run a wire to a designated power source upon startup. Any suggestions on how and where to tie into if I have to go this route?

I know of no way to turn off the theftlock. The amount of current drawn by that blinking LED is miniscule. Also, I can't imagine how that would cause any sort of activity on the speaker wiring, keeping your sub awake.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Can you recommend a good place to tie into to enable the sub to only be powered up when the ignition switch is on? There is a place on the sub to hook a (REM) wire which causes the sub to only turn on when this is active. I would guess some where on the radio wiring or ignition switch?

Off-hand, I don't know. You could go right to the fuse box and get one of those adapters that allow you to plug in where a fuse goes.

 

You could tap into the ign. switch wiring. Dunno which wire, but ign power is *usually* pink.
