I bought a drop in K&N filter and was wondering if anyone modified there stock wir box so they get more air flow with it...

I cut a 4" hole in the bottom of stock box. might run some pvc pipe from the

hole down to get a little cooler air.

can i just get a 4" hole saw and cut strait down, or do i have to becareful of anything underneath??

The GMT 800 air intake system supports 8.1L why would you need more air for your 4.8,5.3 or 6.0L other than more noise.

Pull the stock box out and the mounting plate. The plate is open in the center and i just traced the opening to the box and cut the hole. Thinking of runing pvc pipe down maybe 6" with 90 degree elbow to see if it picks up more air.

because GM engineers have NO idea what they are doing, but a couple of guys with a 12 pack and a black-n-decker sawzall DO!
