skrat Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 My wife is filing a workers’ comp. suit against her company because she got a bad case of mouse wrist from their negligence of ergonomics. They bought her Dragon Naturally Speaking ( http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/ ) at work, but she still does about an hour of work a day from home, and I think they should legally be required to provide her with it at home if she’s working. Anyone know if that’s true? We live in California.

Or does she just do some work at home just because she wants to not because they make her? If they don't require her to do work at home then they should not have to furnish one.. IMO
Wingnut Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Get a different kind of mouse. I use 3 different kinds on several different computers to mix it up, and don't have any issues. I've been working on computers (typing and such) for 20 years.

And she is required to work from home. But I just realized you can install Dragon on two computers. *doh* So that takes care of that. And wingnut - you are lucky. Believe me, everything else was tried. Some people's physiology is just more resilient than others.
