New GMC 6.2L Engine

Does any one else have a 07 Denali with the 6.2L engine. After changing the oil my self and filter and refilling with the recomended 6 quarts of oil I then checked the oil to find out that according to the dipstick that the crankcase was overfilled by about one quart. I took it to the dealer and got no satisfaction at all he told me that the one that he checked on the lot was the same way. Is this true? Has any one else had the same problem?

Mine was over the full mark when I took delivery. I also changed my own oil and filter and it too was over full, but I don't think it would have been a quart. Perhaps a pint. Next change I will use less and check it to the dipstick. Also my dealer said to expect the 6.2L to burn a quart within the first 1000 - 1500 miles but mine didn't, however I did drive it 125 miles non stop from the dealer's lot. Perhaps that had an effect instead of the usual short trips most people have when going home from their dealer. I always thought a little extra oil was better than not quite enough. J
