avalanche 2500 exhaust

I posted this in the 2500 trucks section but didnt get much of a reply. I figured since its an HD you guys could help me out.

 

My question is why does the avalance 2500 come with a smaller exhaust (at least muffler back) than my sierra 2500hd? Both have the 8.1 and they are both the same year. Anyone?

The Avalanche isn't intended for commercial towing, whereas the 2500HD is commercial towing capable. The larger exhaust retains less heat under constant use with a heavy load. I dought you loose much power if any with the smaller pipes though.
