Kenwood DPX-501 install

I'm getting ready to install my new Kenwood DPX-501 in my bose equipped Rado. The vehicle does not have On-Star or the steering wheel controls.

 

I know you need a chime module to keep the factory chimes and other things happy within the vehicle. I just happen to see several items out there.

 

One item is the one from Best buy - $120 - I'm pretty sure that this one works

 

The second one is from Crutchfield - $100 - This will probably work also.

 

The third one I'm not sure of is from JPCustoms - here is the link.

I installed the same head unit in my '05 sierra and it sound great. A hundred bucks for an annoying door chime? No thanks, the messages for door ajar, fasten seatbelt, low fuel etc still show up on the dash without the chime.

Try Scosche from Wal-mart...it is a lot cheaper, and Scosche has been around forever.

 

Crap, can't get the link to work...Search for "GM11" on Wal-mart's website, it will bring it right up.

 

I just got mine in the mail today, installing it tomorrow.
