Best Non-Synthetic Oil?

And your answer will be whatever each person puts in their vehicles.  Really as long as you don't buy Wal-Mart oil, any of the major brands will suffice.  Although personally, Quaker State won't go near my engines and Pennzoil is not too far behind Q.S..

I use Valvoline personally.

I've used non-synthetic Valvoline in all my vehicles, since I've owned vehicles and have always been satisfied with it.  My dad has also done the same as far back as I can remember.

What do you base your opinions on? Hard data or personal preferences? I personally think almost any major brand non-sythetic oil on the market today has enough research behind it to stand up to 95% of most engine demands. I just have a hard time believing that one major brand is that much better than the next major brand.

I've always used Valvoline.  I figured I've got about 680,000 miles on the vehicles I've owned and never any engine problems.  Several vehicles were/are over 100,000 miles.

mobil 1  is the One...  Had a '93 Z71 5.7 with 182K when I traded her for the '02 2500HD Crew 4x4.  Used Castrol 5w30 dino oil for the first 150K then switched to Mobil 1.  Ran much smoother but did get a little leakage due to the old seals.  The synthetic flows much faster and easier was what I was told so it will leak on an older vehicle.

Started using Mobil 1 from the first oil change in the new truck.  In my opinion it is worth the extra cost for the peace of mind and extra protection.

Non synthetic? I use Delvac 1300S in my diesel based on recommendation by a lubrications specialist frequenting TDP. And yes I buy it @ Walmart.

Mobil 1 from front bumper to back bumper. I personally feel you are selling yourself short if you don't use synthetics. Old personal opinions are hard to get past but if you do your research and read what information is available you will start using it and never look back.  As for personal stories, my dad used Mobil 1 the first year it came out.  He changed the oil once a year (no matter how many miles he drove) and changed the filter every 3K then added oil.  The vehicle went for 12 years, I chnaged the valve cover gaskets before selling the veh. and the engine was clean as a whistle and ran strong as day one!  Not very scientific but who knows. :hail:

Don't meen to be rude but WHY? I would rather eat a couple of bolonga sandwiches then to skimp on the oil in my truck..Just me...

I had always had good luck with Castrol.  Castrol and Valvoline seem to be the best dino-oil.  That said, I use synthetics, Mobil One to be precise.  Factory fill in my C5.

I use anything Exxon/Mobile in my HD, and Valvoline High Milage in my blazer....it doesn't keep it from leaking, but it still runs so i can't complain.
