96 suburban temperature fluctuation

I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that my temp gauge will climb to about 230 degrees and i have no heat in front or rear. However when the gauge drops to the norm appr. 190 degrees the hot air will blow, but not in the rear. I had no temp problems at all this summer. Help...Thanks for your time.

I bet you are low on coolant. Well I should say your engine is. Anyway, check that. If it is a leaking intake gasket and or water pump is your best bet. I have done many of both.

I agree check and or flush your coolant as necessary, and seee what happens, also I believe that model has a "heater control valve" check that out for proper operation/leaks
