Purchased New 2007 Silverado Classic

Hi everyone - I'm new to this forum. I bought the 2007 classic earlier this month (Silverado LT with 5.3L 3.73) and really enjoy it. I looked at the new body Silverado's and was going to purchase one, but the dealership was looking to clear out the older body style so the deal was to good to turn down. Anyway, my question is: I have the FF 5.3L and I replaced the gas cap with a locking gas cap from my 94' Silverado. After several days the check engine light came on my dash. I spoke with the dealership and they said to put the original gas cap back on and the check engine light would go out. I did and it went off a couple of days later. Does anyone make a locking gas cap that will keep this from happening? I checked withe the parts dept at the dealership I purchased the truck from and they said they did not carry one and the last one made was for the 2004 year I believe. Anyone know of where I can purchase a locking fuel cap that will meet the emission standard and keep the check engine light from appearing?

The one for a 2004 should work as they are both the same body style. Congrats on the new truck!!
