2. i took my quad to the mounds in mt. morris and there is no sign posting the speed limit or for spining your tires in the parking lot my quad and my buddy that went with me both our quads were to loud so we were kindof pissed of we went down there with a groupe of 7 people but we both turned around and let them have it but we didnt hit them with any stones they came over soon as we did it and said you better get out of here befor the dnr gets here so we tryed we threw the quads on the trailer and took off so we could get out even tho we didnt tie them down so they wrote us with carless driveing is that bulls**t or what

Sounds like your tickets were actually pretty well-deserved. It sounds like you blew that stop sign (even if you turned the corner your'e supposed to STOP). If your quads were unsecured and you were driving like a lunatic (speeding, cutting people off, etc.) then you deserved the wreckless driving ticket too. Obeying the law gets you out of alot of tickets =)

Holy crap, that's a run-on sentence if I've ever seen one.

Anyways, I'd fight them both, even if they are legitimate. I'm not sure where you live, but when I lived in California, it was surprisingly easy to fight a ticket. You didn't even have to go to court, you could fight it by mail. If you fought it by mail, and lost the case, you could request a new trial ('Trial de novo' is what I think they called the new trial).

The last ticket I got there was a BS ticket. The cop said that he "estimated" that I was going "approximately" 75. He didn't have me on radar, didn't pace me, or anything, just what he estimated that I was going. I fought the ticket by mail, and it was thrown out. It took me about 15 minutes to fill out the paperwork, and saved me quite a bit of money.

Same thing almost happened to my dad a few weeks ago. The cop visualized him going between 75 and 80 when he was only doing 72. He ended up telling the cop he wasn't going to take a ticket so the cop gave him a warning instead.

Is this Mt Morris in PA? (area where the national moto-X races are held)

If so, I'm not surprised ya got a hard time about the loudness of your quads.

PA is getting kinda strict on quads and dirtbikes lately.

Really sux to, since they aren't doing anything with all the money they get from registrations to make more trails. But they keep closing down other areas that people have ridden on for quite awhile.

yea even tho i ran it why couldnt he right me for yeilding it. and when i took off no i wasnt out of countrol i had my quad under countrol i know my limits and this is in michigan

He couldn't write you for yielding it because you blew a stop sign...you're supposed to STOP at one of those. And as for 'not being out of control'...your vehicle doesn't have to be out of control for you to be careless. Careless driving is blatently ignoring the rules of the road, or where ever you happen to be. You're lucky you didn't get a careless driving ticket as WELL as a failure to stop ticket when you blew the stop sign.

Oh, and you can fight it if you want, but Mt. Morris cops typically show up to court.

Maybe some of these guys have never been to the "mounds" or mt. morris whatever u want to call it if ur talking about the one up here in MI. but even if these tickets were well deserved or not the DNR up here are assholes! They will try and bust u for anything. I drove up the towing a buddies truck cuz it wasnt street legal (no license plate) pulled in there and they told us we HAD to have one well my buddy pulled his lap top out and we went to there website were it says it has have a pink slip not a license plate. so we got in but still we a bunch of F@#$ offs.

The reason the DNR are strict at the Mounds is because of people like the poster. Roosting and ripping around the staging area makes everyone mad, including fellow riders. It is the top rule amongst off-roaders to be cool in the pit/staging area. If they gave you a hard time at the Mounds, it is because they are conditioned to be that way. Too many moron newbies on quads and not enough area...

I have no sympathy for people who frequent the mounds for riding. Be legal or don't ride. It gives all of us a bad name...
